Caerphilly, known for its iconic medieval castle and rich heritage, has recently welcomed a contemporary addition: ffos Caerfilli a modern market development created from shipping containers and bespoke structures. Designed as a hub for local culture, ffos brings together street food vendors, artisan retailers, and live events in an open, urban-style space. The challenge was to create a website that reflected this new energy while staying accessible and informative for a wide-ranging audience.

A new market for a market town

We designed a clean, mobile-first website that balances ease of use with vibrant storytelling. Every element of the site is built to reflect the creative, community-led spirit of the market. Taking cues from the market’s bold architecture and branding, the website features confident color blocks, engaging photography, and custom iconography to guide navigation. This visual identity brings energy to every page, appealing to a modern audience whilst keeping a focus on a sound user experience.

Stop by for a scroll & browse

Central to the website is trader directory, which highlights the diversity of ffos’ offering—from sustainable fashion retailers to globally inspired street food. Each trader has a dedicated flexible profile with images, key information, opening hours, and links to contacts and socials.

The ffos website features a lightweight, flexible calendar that showcases everything from weekend DJ sets and food festivals to community workshops and children’s programming. Designed for easy backend updates, it allows the ffos team to keep content fresh and encourage repeat visits.

Plan ahead

One area many destination based websites tend to fail at, is clear visiting information, the site features visiting information such as how to get there, opening hours, parking, accessibility, and FAQs. Information is supplemented with bespoke iconograpy for a clear on brand user journey.

The ffos Caerfilli website is more than just a promotional tool—it’s a versatile platform for a space that celebrates the town, creativity, and community. It bridges Caerphilly’s rich past with its exciting present, giving locals and visitors a reason to return again and again. By combining functionality with an intuitive user experience, the site supports the market’s growth and evolving story at every step.
