Jake’s Ice Cream opened its freezer doors as one of the key traders at Ffos Caerffili, the modern container market and community hub in the centre of Caerphilly. Known for serving up indulgent, colourful ice creams and creative flavour combos, Jake’s quickly became a go-to destination for kids, families, and sweet-toothed locals alike. We were brought on board to develop a brand identity that matched the spirit of the product—fun, friendly, and full of personality. The result is a brand that stands out across the market while being instantly loveable to passersby of all ages.
The scoop
We created a joyful, scoop-sized brand identity that balances playful design with clear, confident communication—perfect for an independent dessert brand that doesn’t take itself too seriously. The Jake’s Ice Cream logo is soft, rounded and full of bounce. The wordmark uses thick, whipped letterforms that feel like they’ve been piped from a giant swirl of vanilla soft-serve. Each character is carefully drawn to capture the melty, indulgent spirit of the product. The brand was brought to life with a high end built up letter illuminated sign that was expertly fabricated and fitted by Caerphilly based Sauce a renowned signage and display company, along with all other printed materials from small format to large format.
