  • Loftco / Girl & Boy

Newport Market, a historic Grade II-listed building at the heart of the city, has undergone a major regeneration—reimagined as a contemporary European-style market. Led by property developer Loft Co, the project has turned a fading indoor market into a vibrant hub for independent food, drink, lifestyle retail, co-working, and social experiences. Working with their developed brand and design by Girl & Boy, Loftco needed a digital platform that matched the ambition of the redevelopment—celebrating Newport’s heritage while positioning the market as a key player in the city’s future. The website needed to serve as both an informative visitor guide and a showcase of the new market culture: modern, diverse, and alive with energy.

On site, the Newport Market website needed to reflect its striking branding throughout

Bringing the past into into the present

Newport Market is iconic, with deep roots in the city’s story. The newly developed brand honours the markets legacy while embracing its future as a stylish, flexible, and European-inspired space. The website developed is a multi-purpose, visually compelling website that captures the spirit of the new Newport Market—bold, curated, and distinctly European in tone and function. Clean layouts, and a focus on a rich user experience were key to the development of the Newport Market website.

Trader showcase

A modular trader directory gives each vendor a dedicated space to tell their story, list opening hours, menus or products, and link to their social profiles. The directory is filterable by categorisation system allowing users to simply filter what’s on offer.

Taking Newport Markets existing brand to develop a striking website interface

The new website for Newport Market is more than just a digital guide—it’s a reflection of the market’s rebirth. Designed to be clear, stylish, and excentuate the unique brand, the platform supports the vision of a truly modern market space, rooted in community but inspired by continental European culture. As Newport continues its urban renewal, the market—and its digital identity—stands as a bold symbol of the future and regeneration of Newport.
